Skin care routine step by step

When it comes to skin care routine, a lot of people don’t know much about it unless they did a really good research. So they usually think that good enough skin routine is a mask once a week. The truth is that every single morning after a cleansing routine followed by a toner, you need to do 4 important steps before applying your makeup, or just leaving the house with no makeup on at all. Let’s look at the steps one by one:

A SERUM

Serums are the most liquid form of skin care so they penetrates deeper in the skin to deliver active ingredients, much deeper in the epidermis than any moisturizer would. They hydrate the skin from the inside. There is a serum for every skin type, no matter if you’re dry, normal, oily or combination. There is a misunderstanding with a lot of people when it comes to oily skin and skin care products. They think that oily skin doesn’t need any additional creams because it already has oil. But the truth is that the skin actually need even more hydration at that point and it’s producing oils to hydrate itself since it’s dehydrated. A good active ingredient is hyaluronic acid which is responsible for the hydration of the skin.

EYE CREAM

Some people ask “Why do I have to use an eye cream? Can’t I just use my regular cream around the eyes?!” the answer is no, because the area around the eyes is very delicate, very thin and sensitive and it also has a different pH value then the rest of the face, so it requires different ingredients. Go to your favorite skin care store and pick out an eye cream that is suitable for your age group.

MOISTURIZER

After you hydrated your skin from the inside and apply the appropriate eye cream, you want to go ahead with a moisturizer with active ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid for hydration, Collagen (you’re skin stops producing it when you turn 28) which is responsible for restoring the elasticity of the skin or Retinol for rewinding the signs of age. The moisturizer is going to nourish the skin from the outside or in other words the pores on the skin. Leave the moisturizer to absorb in the skin for a few minutes before doing the next step.

FACE BASE (PRIMER)

This is something that is crucial in the skin care routine. A primer is going to create a layer of protection of the free radical agents on the air and it also primes the face for the foundation. A lot of times people apply a primer before applying a foundation, thinking that this is the only step they need to do. But they don’t know that if they don’t apply the skin care products before the primer, the skin might be extremely dry and the primer doesn’t do much of a hydration, so you just end up applying a product to a dehydrated skin.

After all of this steps you can go ahead and start the process of makeup application and you will notice how much longer your makeup stays on the face. If you apply foundation on a skin that doesn’t have any skin care products or a primer on, your Foundation would most likely end up being sucked into the pores, disappear and fill in the pores. That’s why you need to make this into a holy-grail habit and do it religiously. You’re skin will thank you!
